The Rescue Goats
Short Horn
Shorthorn came from south of Buffalo Missouri, she had been living wild with some horses for four years or so. Nobody knows where she came from. She just appeared and began living with the horses that were there. She ate grain with the horses, shared their hay and living quarters but would not allow anyone near her.
Then came the day that the horses were sold and the property would go up for sale in the spring. It would be a long difficult winter for this goat with no horses to eat with and no large bales of hay to use for protection from the cold and harsh winter weather.
Somewhere along the way she broke one of her horns that nobody knew about until we attempted to rescue her. The break had happened quite awhile ago. She also has an injured leg but gets around perfectly and does not appear to be in any pain.
It was not easy catching her but we did. She is now living quietly and quite friendly here at Sunset Alpaca & Llama Farm where she will live out her life with the other goats, Llamas, alpacas, etc.
At first she did not know what to think about all of the other animals and being fed twice a day and having a large shelter, but she soon became friends with not only the other critters but me as well. She enjoys treats and being petted.

Stewart
Stewart came here at the age of ten months old. He came from a gentleman who thought that he needed to be around other goats but did not want to own more goats.
We named him after a character on the Big Bang Theory.
We had intended to keep him but we were asked by ?????????????????? if we had any young goats to sell. We decided that instead of buying a couple of goats they would adopt two young rescue goats. They will live their lives out at this school and give many hours of enjoyment not only to the students and staff but also to visitors.
Stewart is bonded with Red Head who is a young nanny rescue so they will both be going to ????????????????????????? together.

Redhead
Red Head came from a sale barn, she literally could not walk in the ring. Nobody would bid on her. When got her she was young and very skinny and depleted. In a few weeks she was on her way to a healthy recovery.
Shortly after coming here she bonded with Stewart, I had decided I would like to keep them both, however since they are young and healthy they are being adopted by ???????????????????? where they will both live their lives out being well cared for and loved by all of the students, staff and the many visitors that go there every year.
